16A vs Oundle - Away: Won 2-1 (Skinner, Malyon)

This was a super result, it was well deserved and hard fought. Due to a catalogue of injuries and last minute unavailability, we travelled with only 12 players. The girls started really well and our opening goal was well taken by Eliza … we bossed the first half creating some very good chances but we failed to convert. Circle outcomes was spoken about at half time, the girls continued in the same vein and worked hard and put Oundle under a lot of pressure. A number of penalty corners worked well, but either just missed, or hit a stick on the line or was saved … it was Oundle who scored ten minutes from time from a their one and only PC of the second half - deflected in off a defenders stick.

What was most pleasing was the girls reaction, they fought back hard, when legs were very tired, they dug deeper and found it within themselves to step up another gear, finally winning a PC with minutes from time - it was beautifully executed by Rose, Ella, Bella and Becca … this was a solid team performance and the girls built character from their endeavour.
