U16A Girls vs Stowe - Won 8-0 (Malyon 4, Stanton 2, Hamson, Manara)

This was a good performance and a big improvement on the previous match, after two productive training sessions during the week. We began the game with a good start keeping the ball in our possession and passing accurately with the correct ball pace. Within the first five minutes Becca had scored a goal which really upped our momentum to win the game. We were becoming more aggressive, whilst working well as a team which led to Bella scoring, an ariel tap in on the right post, the second goal. Our breaks down the left and right channels were made possible by having Izzie or Liv out on the wings offering for the ball from Emma or Ella. Our focus on the press during training proved worthwhile particularly later in the match, when we scored more goals.

During the second half, as we grew in confidence, our team was improving by the knowledge we had learnt from training; quick accurate passing, recognizing the channels of attack and there was also a lot more communication. Our defensive four intercepted attacking passes successfully, they tackled solidly, and they also had lots of energy for challenging attackers, giving away very few attacking positions in the D. All in all, a much better performance but still plenty for improvement!
