Old Oakhamian Kathryn Lane to represent England at Hockey World Cup.

Old Oakhamian Kathryn Lane (13) will be representing England at the Women’s Hockey World Cup, which is to take place on home soil in London from 21 July to 5 August 2018.

Kathryn recently picked up a Bronze medal in the England Women’s Hockey team at the Commonwealth Games in April, when she played alongside team member Ellie Watton, her former Oakham PE teacher. She will now be looking to build on this success at the Women’s Hockey World Cup.

Kathryn has been playing for England since leaving Oakham in 2013 and has been named as part of the Centrally Contracted Squad in preparation for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

Director of Hockey, Mr James Bateman said, “We are so proud that Kathryn has been selected for the Women's World Cup Hockey Squad. It will be fantastic to see her have the chance to experience a home World Cup with the amazing support of the British crowd. We are looking forward to following her progress throughout the tournament and wish her all the best."
