Three Oakham School rugby players have gained international honours by playing for England and Wales.

Seventh Former Sam, who last year gained 7 caps playing for the Wales U18 team, has been selected to play for the Wales U20 Six Nations squad, already gaining 5 caps. He will be in action playing in the World Cup Tournament in Rosario, Argentina in June, fitting in training and playing around his A-level exams!

Director of Rugby, Andy Rice, said: “To be selected for an U20 squad whilst still a schoolboy is a phenomenal achievement and Sam has proved himself worthy of this honour, as in the five matches he has played for Wales U20 squad to date, he has scored 1 try against Scotland, had 2 conversions and gave the winning pass in the last minute against England to secure a 11-10 win to Wales.”

Meanwhile, Seventh Former Jack has been playing for England U18s this season, scoring a try in their 36-21 win over Scotland.

Hot on their heels is Sixth Former Kit, who in spring 2019 was included in the England squad and trained with the team at Newcastle, playing in a match against Scotland. He has just been selected for the England U18 squad that will travel to South Africa this summer and play against Wales, France and South Africa.
