Congratulations to Form 4 pupil Will who has won the Leicestershire County Cricket Club Batsman of the year award for the second year running and Rutland League Performance of the Year for a century in the league.

Will was presented with the award in recognition of his efforts and achievements for the Leicester U14, 15s and EPP team, as well as for scoring his maiden century for the Oakham Cricket Club Men’s team. Will also contributed and helped Oakham Cricket Club 1st team gain promotion from Division One to the Premier League this season.

Upon receipt of the award, Will said, “It is great seeing all my hard work and extra late night cricket training sessions pay off. I feel very lucky to receive these awards, and it means a lot to me.”

Director of Cricket Neil Johnson said, “It is fantastic to see Will’s talent, hard work and dedication to the sport being recognised and we are very proud.”

Will is no stranger to success, being a part of the U15 team at Oakham School that reached the semi-final of the National Finals last season.
